Every now and again I get asked why I use Gentoo, and I usually say that it's the perfect OS for me, or that does what I want it to do. (Though, sometimes I go on rambling for hours...
)
I think that this article conveys the point of Gentoo really well ( much better than I do :p ), so if you're curious, give it a read!

If you're currently feeling outraged because KDE has gone full slop, perhaps you should consider finding better news sources.

#Akademy2026 has concluded and it was too good to be true. As part of the local team, I'll go straight to hibernation, so see you all in spring!
@kde @akademy
IT IS HAPPENING
cute little fella
I love it when computer (not really, sometimes)
Actually, you know what? @kde this kind of slide is what you get when you invite speakers who think AI is the future and make it a core topic of the talk. You get the Omarchy logo being treated like an equal seat at the table, a distro which explicitly exists to soak up the funding and vice signals of fascists and entrench their presence in the open source community. This wasn't even the slide that was JUST the Omarchy logo at full-slide size.
You're an extremely important piece of infrastructure for the free ecosystem. You really can't afford to be playing in these circles. If you start treating AI as if it's the morally neutral inevitable future, or endorsing those positions with conference talks, you won't like what you become, and you'll leave a lot of people with no place to go.
Between this and the AI-native talk, you're probably hearing from a lot of terrified and angry people, many less polite than me, who need to know why you're letting these people in your house. You deserve that.
@MaddieM4 "You get the Omarchy logo being treated like an equal seat at the table" is there evidence that this has happened with KDE? Your post does seem to imply so
@niccolove update, funny enough. https://circumstances.run/@davidgerard/117311106218081864
EDIT: Also, for the quoted part, you can just look at the screenshot, with the Akademy logo and the slide contents. Or watch the original video. In the immortal words of Tim Robinson: "I didn't stage shit! I didn't do this!"
@MaddieM4 and that'd be "equal seat at the table"? The simple fact that it mentioned for a technical aspect of it? This is stripping context away in a very deceiving manner... And the tweet you're quoting there is phrased in such a out of touch way that I simply have no words for it.
@arthsmn @kde I wrote the play by play thread that went viral. And a few days later, the KDE developers started a vote on a pro-LLM policy. And when one of the people pushing for that permissive policy was outed as someone with Nazi politics, they banned the person who brought the evidence, locked the thread, and started a new private one so that they could make that policy decision without any KDE users in the room.
We're sorry you see it that way, but that is not what happened. Person A violated the internal rules of invent and was banned on the spot. Person B was banned after an investigation. The two bans were inevitable. We cannot have people violating our processes (person A) or our CoC (person B).
That person A made the ban of person B happen faster? True. But person B would've been banned sooner or later regardless.
As for closing the thread, we're sorry again, but having that amount of noise on the thread made it completely unmanageable. Our mods and sysadmins are volunteers and many of them have not been able to catch a break in more than 24 hours. We had to do something to take off the pressure and allow them to re-group and catch up.
If you are feeling left out, the solution is very simple: become a KDE contributor. You will be able to help decide on policies directly.
And rest assured that whatever emerges from the policy-deciding discussion, it will not be set in stone. It will be an initial tool to help everybody manage the current real-world situation and will be polished and revised over time to make sure we always work in benefit of the people.
@kde @MaddieM4 @arthsmn @kde Since most of the community (from what I've seen, I might be in a echo bubble/chamber) is strongly against AI, why not introduce a policy that reflects the sentiment of the community at large? Since it is meant to be a draft, something to stop the current gap in the rules, you can make it more restrictive and if need be, gradually roll back whatever community feels is okay.
You are not a tech corp that needs to "move fast and break things".
You are currently in a slight PR disaster. True, there is a massive amount of hate, not criticism, but that shows how strong the community feels and reacts to this topic.
@Albi @kde @MaddieM4 @arthsmn I want to particularly bring up a point here that's been brought up in (non-KDE) policy discussions elsewhere:
if you start with a complete ban, it's easy to gradually make it more permissive over time when there's a justification to do so; but if you start with a permissive policy, then every restriction you add, however small, will break someone's workflow and cause a lot of conflict. the safe interim option is to start with a complete ban.
it's like the old business advice of "overcharge at first if you don't know what the right price is, because a reduced price later is a gift but an increased price later is an insult". but applied to contribution policy.
@kde A project that only takes the developer's opinions into account on something so important is not a project that "works in benefit of the people" at all. If people are feeling left out you should *listen to them*, not tell them "well maybe work for me and we'll see"
@1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn
Bringing an on-going discussion from outside into a thread with which it bore no relationship, and ad hominem attacks on another user (even if it turned out they deserved it).
The correct way to proceed is to alert mods, sysadmins or another participant in the discussion privately.
What happened is akin to someone walking into a restaurant and seemingly randomly punching another patron. They're going to get thrown out.
@kde @MaddieM4 I don't think your analogy fits. As I see it, KDE was hosting a town hall, a nazi started pushing for a policy position that's popular with fascists & different attendee brought proof to let everyone know they were discussing policy w/ a nazi. The nazi admitted to being a nazi but pointed out that he hadn't been rude at this town hall. KDE threw out SweetLuna ASAPbut took a full day to say a nazi who admitted to being a nazi as soon as he was accused of being a nazi wasn't welcome
Telling everyone at a bar that a person at the bar is a nazi, is akin to punching them?
So correctly identifying someone's political beliefs is a violent act?
@kde @1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn The question at issue was whether fascist tools should be barred from KDE. That a fascist was agitating for their inclusion while claiming to be apolitical was directly relevant.
Furthermore, opposition to fascism is a necessity for the survival of any community.
@kde @1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn What a violently horrifying simile, and incredibly inappropriate. Those two things are not alike at all.
@kde @1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn I mean ... if I walked into my favourite restaurant and saw a colleague punching a guy wearing a swastika tattoo and a Hitler t-shirt, I'd probably join in.
@kde @1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn pointing out that a nazi (and a proven one at that) shouldn't be talking about ethics is not ad hominem and you know it.
> randomly punching another patron
So you are admitting you have nazis as patrons. Good to know!
@kde Again, bringing out someone's political vested interest during a discussion of a technology with severe economic and political collateral consequences is neither orthogonal to the discussion nor an ad-hominem attack. You are either falling for the "the card says moops" manipulation pattern from the alt-right playbook videos, or deploying it yourself.
@kde @1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn
> What happened is akin to someone walking into a restaurant and seemingly randomly punching another patron. They're going to get thrown out.
No. not even slightly. That's an act of violence, not speech, and nobody would be aware why the fascist was punched. You've twisted this to an extreme I can't help but wonder what was going through your mind when you wrote "seemingly randomly", let alone when you equated non-violent, non-extreme, speech with violence.
This would be more akin to walking into a discussion, hearing the topic, and saying "You realize you're listening to a fascist, right?" out loud. Which some might consider disruptive, many or most would be more concerned about *gestures at all of this* and would want to know.
I'm tired of everything being New York Timesed, with tut-tutting and tone policing at everyone who dares point out evil. It's quite one thing to argue that fascists should have freedom of speech to such a high degree the resources of others should be coopted to amplify their views (they shouldn't, but I can understand why some might think that's a logical conclusion of freedom of speech, at least if they're still 14 years old), it's quite another to argue that their opponents shouldn't.
Reinstate the poor guy (not the Nazi, the person who wanted you to know what you were dealing with) and apologize. He or she did you a service.
@kde @1stname_buncha_num @MaddieM4 @arthsmn
"Bringing an on-going discussion from outside into a thread with which it bore no relationship, and ad hominem attacks on another user (even if it turned out they deserved it)."
a) sounds like tone policing people potentially targeted by fascists.
b) still leaves the question open about priorities. Apparently for that call out in the "wrong" tone/place it was high priority to not only moderate that one post but to ban the user completely, quickly.
@kde @MaddieM4 @arthsmn
What, is it against the internal rules to call someone out for extremism and CoC violations? It's sure starting to sound like ya'll know you have a nazi bar problem, but instead of addressing it, you just make it against the rules to call someone a nazi.
Your responses are genuinely making me lose faith in kde to the point where it's unlikely I'll donate again. Please stop yapping and maybe like, actually advocate for the positive change people'd like to see within kde instead; you're not gonna rebuild community trust without something concrete.
Nate Graham's first-hand, blow-by-blow account on what went down:

How do those links qualify as dox? I was under the impression that “dox” means information that reveals the real-life identity behind a pseudonym. This doesn't seem to qualify; the X account is also pseudonymous.
As for no one else in FOSS being a cackling techbro, you might want to review the list. https://drewdevault.com/weird-guys/
>The person who doxxed the other was banned.
>
>Later, the identity of the doxxed person was verified, and they were also banned for their conduct outside of KDE being so unacceptable that people inside KDE did not want to associate with them.
Interesting 🤔
Was the "doxxed person" banned due to information that was uncovered by the "doxxing"? Would the same have happened if the "doxxing" had not occurred? Which personally identifiable information was uncovered by the "doxxing"? Would you count a Twitter account under a pseudonym as personally identifiable information that justifies the term "doxxing"?
@kde "In other words, this is a hard problem."
It has an easy solution: Nothing has fundamentally changed with regards to the vast chasm of negative externalities, so for the foreseeable future, the answer is NO. Any domain expert who sees all of that badness and still thinks it's a good idea to use LLM to "help" the project isn't someone whose "help" is needed. If/when substantial improvements occur to the horrible circumstances surrounding LLM and other current AI use, then such a blanket-ban policy can be re-evaluated.
> One of those people doxxed the other
Doxxing is what you consider a punch in the face?
To be clear, you posted that the actions of the banned person was equivalent to a punch in the face. So that's why I'm asking.
> Someone else outside of KDE set up https://kdeforpeople.com in an attempt to brigade KDE into banning LLMs.
Expression of the "users and contributors" 's point of view isn't brigading. And the stance "I don't know pretty much anybody from this list" is so close to miss the bit of "you are not KDE users".
Just a month ago we lost Neovim in that manner, https://github.com/neovim/neovim.github.io/issues/501
@kde yeah, that’s a pretty thoughtful writeup, but it sounds like the step where considering a policy got derailed was 22, “The draft proposal was removed and the whole topic hidden.” If the disruptive people were banned, why didn’t y’all proceed to consider the proposal?
@kde calling out a nazi isn't "doxxing". criticising slopbrained consent-manifacturing isn't "creating drama". advocating for a ban of fashtech isn't "brigading".
@kde There seems to be an air of dismissiveness (maybe even antagonism) towards anyone entirely anti-AI in this article, especially in the comments...
@kde The base reaction of "you're not even a user, so get lost" is a bit outmoded.
This is a behavior that Linux really needs to rethink: they aren't users now, but they could be users. Open Source isn't capitalism, and PR isn't a volunteer job, let alone paid. But where your mind is at and how people are approached speaks volumes before someone even tries your program.
Has it occured to anyone to confront your "brigaders" with a question: "If KDE blocked AI commits in development, regardless of their value, would you start using it?"
(I won't post any further. This is all I have.)
nate... you literally built up boundaries between users and contributors in this process the moment pushback from users appeared (and pulling up someones anonymous twitter account isnt doxxing) and the topic of AI Usage is adversarial and its a including it in a way where its encouraged to not be disclosed to be used is where i feel cheated and exploited
@kde First things first. I do not know who's behind the account here. Maybe you are a decent person, or a group of persons. No idea. And I am a bit sorry for you, as you have some shit to clean up. I wouldn't like to be in your skin right now. So, please mind, whenever I am writing "you", it doesn't mean people directly taking care of this account, but the whole KDE organisation. And as the whole organisation you deserve some criticism.
As the KDE organisation you need to answer yourself a question: for whom you are making the software? If for yourself, then fine. Just close the repositories, gatekeep new contributors to the ones which will not cause troubles, and play in your own sandbox. No one will be bothering you. And we will lost a valuable piece of software.
However, if you, by any chance, want create something valuable for users, then there are another few questions. Do you respect your users? Do you value their feedback? How do you want to get their feedback?
Right now, from the whole kerfuffle, the image is, that you are treating the development of KDE as your own playground. Which, to some extent, is fine. We all need those sweet dopamine hits. I am not judging you for that.
But, so far, all your communication regarding your user base seems disrespectful. Particularly, the use of "brigading" word. How else you want to get the feedback from your users, if you block your own channels of communications? What you did is performing the act of censorship. And - at the very beginning - you have censored people pointing you your mistakes. That doesn't look good. And also, at your first impulse, you have defended a person with disgusting views.
Which moves us to another item. What are your values? What kind of community do you want to create? Former experiences in other communities has shown us, that either you aim for creating a diverse, progressive community - and that excludes right winger, or you want to create so called "big tent" which, in the long run, ends with pushing out diverse people out of the community, as there is no safety guaranteed.
That question is very important. I myself, as a trans person, am in the vulnerable group. And I will use all reasonable means and knowledge to keep the environment around me safe for myself, and for likes one me. Because people upholding racist, homophobic, transphobic views are not safe. If that means pointing to a resource where they - under their own name - embrace such views, and there is provable connection between the identity, and the real name, I won't hesitate to reveal it. For my own safety.
As far as I know - and I am glad to be corrected if I am wrong - no personal data has been revealed regarding the person with unacceptable views. So, "doxing" is yet another manipulation. And the way you have handled this item also says a lot about the priorities of your own values.
To put it clearly. You have fucked this situation deeply. And you need to rethink both: your values, and your moderation procedures.
And I believe the honest apology is due, to the user base, and - particularly - to Sweetluna.
Take your time, talk internally, and make a consistent statement, which will show your values and commitments clearly.
And a note for potential disputants. If I am factually wrong, feel free to correct me. I am not afraid to admit my own mistakes or ignorance. Not the first time, and not the last.
But if you are going to try to convince me to reinterpret facts known to me without providing factual background - please spare that both of us. I have made my mind.
#kdegate (I do not know, if I will participate in further discussion, as I have nothing more to add right now, but if that happens, I will use this tag - feel free to filter it out, if not interested).
@kde Apparently, I was wrong assuming decency of the person behind this account.
https://circumstances.run/@davidgerard/117322654185564343
To put it clearly: you are defending a nazi here. Think what this action makes you.
@kde Oooh, this is rich.
Edit: sorry, I was confused by what the mobile app has shown me. Now, I am checking it through the web interface, henceforth some updates.
I have noticed, that:
I've been blocked by the account.
So, my interpretation of those two this fact is that the whole communication from this account is an attempt to just cover up the fuckup, instead of being accountable for their actions.
Until proved otherwise, by their action, I will consider KDE as nazi bar.
In the immortal words of Abed:
Cool... Cool. Cool. Cool.
PS. I am not banned by the account. So, in theory, I can refollow it. But I consider this action of the account holder as a revoke of consent, and I will respect it. But if the account holder will change their decision, I expect the explicite consent to be granted before following the account again.
@kde didn't know "referencing the publicly made posts that a person made, publicly, on their twitter" was doxxing
cmon. get serious
@kde I miss a nuanced view on this issue. To me it seems like the Sanders and Bannon followers took the butlerian jihad literally. But I'm somewhat disappointed that KDE Eco does not differentiate the resource consumption of genAI for assisted coding/epistemic/knowledge work on the one hand, and video slop, entertainment, gaming, product ads, disinformation campaigns, deep fakes, agent swarms, you name it one the other hand. genAI can help to optimize resource consumption, it's a matter of usage
@kde as a signatory of that petition (under a different alias) I'd like to ask: if you don't care even a little about what users think and refer to collective action as "brigading", what makes you meaningfully different from the commercial tech sector? if i wanted to use software that i have no say in the development of, I'd use Windows!
This is all good, and reassuring, with a couple of notes;
"A bunch of people mostly outside of KDE"
That would be the users. I feel like our opinion matters? No?
Honestly, I don't really care about the opinion of the people who want it. Just because someone says "I like making shit sandwiches" doesn't mean I need to eat them because they're doing the work.
This isn't really a delimma. Do the right thing, don't support Nazis or their tools, and let people who want to go do their thing.
Oh, Nate Graham's blow-by-blow account is the real deal. Reading through the whole thing is the only way to understand why things played out the way they did.
@kde yeah no. This is still attempting to manufacture consent for LLMs (I mean, even language claiming that it is "very powerful technology" and putting it alongside serious ethical, moral, and practical concerns attempts to put them on the same grounds).
Others here have already spelled out that simply linking to a public account is not "doxxing" and again, that framing attempts to gather sympathy for what was a bad call that y'all could've just owned up to.
And as someone who has used KDE for 15y+, and introduced it to several folks new to Linux to convince them that Linux can be for everybody, I certainly feel annoyed that KDE isn't interested in listening to users like myself or thinking of them as if they have something useful to offer to the community. I was a signatory on KDE for people, because I felt like I had no other way of having my voice heard.
@kde Gotta be honest, I am really surprised that open source projects are even considering allowing AI.
If this were an art project, any artist who'd proposed using AI "art" for anything would have been laughed out of the room immediately
Why the hell aren't coders doing the same? Coding is a craft like any other
@kde I don't understand why coders don't treat AI-generared code like artists treat AI-generated art. It's a craft like any other
i don't have a problem with how you handled things except for one detail
if someone is doxxing someone, that should be banworthy...
but if then, later, it's revealed, genuine proof, that the doxxed person is an actual bonafide nazi, then the person doing the original doxxing should be *un*banned
doxxing is wrong
unless we're doxxing nazis
As someone who had no idea any of this was happening, the main thing I think was poorly handled was the interaction with those two individuals, considering what has been circulating about one of them. Writing of it as if it was just a disagreement is a bit strange. And if the "doxxing" was only a Xitter account, I think we're using different definitions of "doxxing".
That said, I'm glad that KDE development seems to want to restrict rather than encourage LLM involvement. 1/2
@kde I dunno, guys... "We banned the person who pointed out one of the people we were listening to is a nazi and provided receipts" is not the reasonable and civilised position that you seem to think it is
"We later banned the nazi too, it looked too bad with the receipts out in the open" does not make it much better
A whole section of "look, this is all fash tech and we all know it, right?" followed by "But it can spit out so much code tho!" couldn't be farther from an "apolitical" position
@kde if a person is a nazi, they are a nazi. You do not discredit Nazis. You point it out. #NoAIinKDE
@kde So very well written.
Maintainer burnout has been a conference topic for 20 years and it isn't getting any better.
Not having a human you are lifting up on the other side removes much of the emotional return.
Also, debating with - passionate, well meaning - folks who are outside the developer community about how to handle the situation is also incredibly taxing.
@kde its only two words "nazi" on this page, both in comments section. i think author is nazi
@kde This is good but he's too positive about #LLMs:
- he says they are "genuinely useful" having started that some users can get identical results with less work. That's conjecture because they do not get identical results even if code generated is identical. The difference is all the insight and notes created by doing the work. The scope for speed up is limited unless you avoid the most valuable part of the work.
- there is no responsible use of #LLM tech because of the harms using it causes
@kde
I love your « What on earth is going on here? » section : it is short, clear, list a lot of problems (not all of them, it seems impossible or unreadable), well describe the current state, is empathic with both side of people
I would prefer that my favorite DE to be made by and for humans, but it is a complicated topic
@kde > what on earth do we do with a technology that is genuinely useful for various things?
Get rid of those misconceptions.
It isn't useful, it is really good at pretending it is, while doing things previous tools and practices already did well (snippets, linters, formatters, type checkers, compilers, code reviews, pairing, etc). Replacing deterministic tooling or human collaboration with LLMs isn't "useful", it is flaky and alienating. You get a higher volume of output, with lower quality.
Thanks for writing and posting this.
It has made me think about my own behavior. How I became more and more toxic myself.
Thanks!

Wow, this is incredibly disingenuous. Almost gaslighting. OK, scratch the almost.
Nate treating the KDE project as his own ego, and "correcting" critics with meaningless tone-policing, is driving you into such a mess.
KDE used to be a good alternative. But now it's overtaken by AI bro defensiveness and false claims leveled by Nate at critics.
Maybe put him in a time-out and try to apologize to your greater community?

There’s a survey going around by someone trying to collect better sizing data for trans adults who have been on HRT long term (ie body stabilised in shape).
It asks for a lot of measurements and just “are you transfem or transmasc”. No identifying details.
Please fill it out trans friends, because having sizing charts and patterns that fit trans people better would be great!
What a weekend at #Akademy2026! 💙
Two days full of talks, ideas, conversations, and celebrating 30 years of KDE with this amazing Community.
A huge thank you to everyone who made it happen and especially our sponsors!
And we’re not done yet. BoFs and trainings start tomorrow.
To everyone when they see horrible privacy news about Microsoft replying with:
"I don't care, I use Linux"
Sure, you do. But does your medical clinic do? Does your therapist do? Does your family member typing a personal email to you in Word before sending it do too?
This is a systemic problem.
You cannot protect your own data only by using Linux yourself. You must also demand stronger regulations and enforcement to obligate organizations around to protect your data as well.

So, I read the "Omarchy Doctine" document, and I'd like to save you a click.
"I'm very old now and I don't like it at all. Nobody listens to me and I desperately want to feel like I did when I was 21. Computers were better when I didn't need to care about other people, and I don't like it and I blame women and minorities. Here's an ersatz 80s esthetic and permission to make sexist, racist jokes as long as your code compiles."
That's it.
boosted"I want to go back to being the biggest fish in a tiny cultural pond" from old guys who either don't realize or won't admit their tiny cultural pond was a stocked fish farm is an embarrassing thing to watch, but I guess no amount of resources will convince some people they should age with some modicum of dignity, kindness or grace.
"Things were better in my day" no they weren't, but if that's all you have to say that's why nobody cares what you have to say.
@prahou what if my only friend is my mobilek?
@prahou
Mobilek had a six pack
@prahou i still have this exact mobilek, in perfect condition actually, because back then i didn’t have the urge to throw him against the wall
@j-g00da me too, but his battery is a little sick
Meanwhile @libreoffice is out here doing the right thing and taking a strong stance.
Thank you #LibreOffice for taking a #NoAI stance!

Ffs, #RyanAir absolutely requires a mobile app to even check-in and access boarding passes.
Screw that. Never flying with them again if I can at all avoid it.
And of course the "More info" button leads to a 404 page. Incompetent dweebs.
Also, can the #EU sort out international train connections finally, please?
I am doing a long multi-point trip across the EU, and I would have loved to use trains for all of it, but as it stands out of 5 legs of the trip, only a single one had a viable train connection.
Come on.
@rysiek doesn't improve the state of #EU cross border #rail connections but maybe helps finding those existing https://traivelling.com/en instead or in addition to interrail
@rysiek Rly? Damn. It sounds like techno-discrimination
@PabloveSky I am going to try to avoid that if at all possible. Will report back. But all the messaging seems to indicate the app is strictly necessary unless you want to pay the 55EUR airport check-in fee.
@rysiek @PabloveSky That's a bluff. If you check in online you can request a printed boarding pass at the check-in desk. But you need to queue, if you're not checking in extra luggage.
@rysiek This year I tested out how easy is it to exercise your right to be forgotten with RyanAir and it was one of the worst companies to deal with.
In case it's interesting I'll link my thread about it: https://mastodon.online/@dlsl/116512661113196158
@rysiek Ouch, thanks for the warning. It feels like this should be illegal unless disclosed during the purchase.
@rysiek i hate ryanair with all my soul but sometimes i have no other option but to use them.
They say that about the app but you can still install the app, screenshot the qr, uninstall the app. It is not one of those awful qr like Ticketmaster uses
@rysiek fucking hell, what a bunch of cunts.
Its funny, I have a second phone for work trips where I can't avoid WhatsApp etc. Had a recent trip that involved a stop over and I was quite worried about not missing flights etc. so installed the Vietnam Airlines app. Anyway, a friend checked for my details on some places and low and behold, that's where my data had leaked, one fucking app. Fortunately I used a one time email Addy but these cunts are literally forcing people to get hacked.
@inpc "compromised". This does not even deserve to be called "hacking". This is corporate bullshit incompetence and malice.
@rysiek Ryan air boss compares other airlines to rapists at recent AGM
@rysiek ryanair is well known as being absolutely scummy, applying every dark pattern they can think of to add charges to your bill, all while giving you the worst experience they can. If ryanair is your only option you're better off hitch-hiking instead.
@rysiek You can request a printed boarding pass at the check-in desk for free, provided that you've checked in online on the website. But yeah, in many respects this sucks. I painstakingly follow this pattern from day 0 when they removed the ability to print boarding passes (I used to carry them as PDF on my phone to "save the planet" which now they claim is the reason).
@rysiek Yeah, it's fucked. FWIW, if you have access to another phone with the app (friend or VM), you can screenshot the boarding pass there and show that. Verified this as we "working" twice.
Although they probably "reserve the right" to not accept this via their EULA…
@rysiek
They are required to print out a boarding pass for you, at the bag drop (the desk with the weighing scales).
You need to:
* Check in online in advance.
* Show up on time and queue.
* Tell the queue agents your smartphone is INOP.
* Show your passport when asked.
You don't need your flight PNR number.
They will then print your boarding pass.
* Proceed to gate.
Smartphone INOP includes: broken, lost, stolen, battery dead.
A FAQ on the website covers all these "what if"s.

# Disabling ChecksumsI love @openzfs@mastodon.social docs.
While it may be tempting to disable checksums to improve CPU performance, it is widely considered by the ZFS community to be an extraordinarily bad idea. Don’t disable checksums.
