doasu.dev is a Fediverse instance that uses the ActivityPub protocol. In other words, users at this host can communicate with people that use software like Mastodon, Pleroma, Friendica, etc. all around the world.
This server runs the snac software and there is no automatic sign-up process.
Trying to use the "forgot password" feature on Codeberg, I'm getting a "Non-local users cannot update their password through the Forgejo web interface" error. Anyone else seen this? What does it even mean?
#codeberg
Made a pull request to small-hack/open-slopware to add #VIm to the list.

We did it! We moved Black Magic Debug project to @Codeberg! 🎉
https://codeberg.org/blackmagic-debug
I wish we did not have to move, but GitHub AI slop and a bunch of other badness pushed us over the edge.
Sorry for all the trouble to anyone who now needs to redirect to the new place, but I feel this is a good thing for the project and it's future.
Thank you #codeberg for all the hard work to offer an alternative! Onwards and upwards! 🚀
...not seeing an easy way to remove binary objects from #codeberg (including historical versions) ... got tips?
Is anybody of you using self-hosted #Renovate along with @Codeberg?
I'm just curious whether it is allowed to create dedicated personalized bot users for your own repositories. Couldn't find any hints in the TOS: https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/org/src/branch/main/TermsOfUse.md
Using the personal account also for Renovate might reduce clarity and visibility..
If you are confused why your Codeberg Pages domain setup has stopped working a few days ago:
The IP addresses have changed, and they seemingly forgot to tell anyone.
(See https://codeberg.org/Codeberg/Documentation/pulls/556.)
Are you using #Codeberg to host your favorite AI-assisted and otherwise vibecoded project because your desire for dopamine has utterly destroyed your willingness to learn new things? Do you neither care about how you're "flooding the room" of the free software ecosystem nor about the greater societal implications, insisting that "it is what it is"?
Check out #GitHub, the world's most popular AI-first platform! Copilot, annoying maintainers with slop, you'll fit just right in!
Still, Codeberg is awesome :))
If you still have your project on GitHub and think that it is a public project, try this: Log off (eg. using a private tab), go to your project, and try reading 3-4 issues. Chances are you're Too Many Requests'd for a few minutes before you even got a decent overview of the project's state. Is this then still a public project?
(For comparison, #Codeberg might run you through a round of Anubis, which is not great either, but still way better, and they run on a tiny fraction of MS's budget.)
(quasi federated)?
You can even overshoot single file upload limits of single file web commits.
I have yet to use #Gitea .. I wonder if it has staying power
#Codeberg rocks tho
Censor, a new document redaction tool, is there!
It allows to draw black rectangles on PDF documents and to permanently remove the text and images below. Find it on @Codeberg: https://codeberg.org/censor/Censor, get it from @flathub: https://flathub.org/apps/page.codeberg.censor.Censor, or translate it on Codeberg Translate: https://translate.codeberg.org/engage/censor!
It is a free and open-source graphical user interface (GUI) for #Linux and the #GNOME desktop, and uses the #MuPDF library with its #python bindings from the #PyMuPDF module.
All my personal projects are now on #codeberg with everything that was on GitHub and GitLab now migrated and archived.
The projects weren't getting much (if any) traction, but it's still nice to have them stored in a nice place. All the code is lot of old junk but it's special to me.
Some other time I'll try to migrate my website off GitHub Pages too.
Packaging software for the various package managers is not exactly fun. But you can find fgj on AUR and homebrew !
A user on AUR requested arm and arm64 builds, I will probably try my hand at it.
