Trying to use the "forgot password" feature on Codeberg, I'm getting a "Non-local users cannot update their password through the Forgejo web interface" error. Anyone else seen this? What does it even mean?

@Codeberg why does deliver garbage pages when accessed from Safari on a modern iPad? All the pages start with: "If you are an AI scraper, and wish not to receive garbage when visiting Codeberg: stop visiting. If you are not an AI scraper: contact Codeberg" Well, here I am.

So this is a weird... error? :question_marks: I'm trans but so very confused :thinkies: (really need a trans thinkies emoji)

If you look at the bottom, the hover shows the link is just the link I wanted anyway, but with ?trans-rights=human-rights at the end. I do not understand. :frog_trans:

      #codeberg #trans

A black screen in my webbrowser reads in white text:

This page is protected by the Cookie Monster. You now have its undivided attention. To avoid getting devoured, say Trans rights are Human Rights.

The words "Trans rights are Human Rights" are a clickable link, which when hovered over shows the following link: https://codeberg.org/small-hack/open-slopware/pulls/64/files?trans-rights=human-rights

(that link goes nowhere)

We did it! We moved Black Magic Debug project to @Codeberg! 🎉

          codeberg.org/blackmagic-debug

I wish we did not have to move, but GitHub AI slop and a bunch of other badness pushed us over the edge.

Sorry for all the trouble to anyone who now needs to redirect to the new place, but I feel this is a good thing for the project and it's future.

Thank you for all the hard work to offer an alternative! Onwards and upwards! 🚀

I'm just curious whether it is allowed to create dedicated personalized bot users for your own repositories. Couldn't find any hints in the TOS: codeberg.org/Codeberg/org/src/

Using the personal account also for Renovate might reduce clarity and visibility..

Do you neither care about how you're "flooding the room" of the free software ecosystem nor about the greater societal implications, insisting that "it is what it is"?

/ is a code forge that—to the best of my knowledge—does not provide a dedicated mechanism for "for security reporting/advisories." At least not presently.

                        Still, Codeberg is awesome :))

If you still have your project on GitHub and think that it is a public project, try this: Log off (eg. using a private tab), go to your project, and try reading 3-4 issues. Chances are you're Too Many Requests'd for a few minutes before you even got a decent overview of the project's state. Is this then still a public project?
(For comparison, might run you through a round of Anubis, which is not great either, but still way better, and they run on a tiny fraction of MS's budget.)

(quasi federated)?

There’s quite a few Guix/Guile-adjacent projects there that we should probably migrate to Codeberg, but we can’t do that properly without their help (adding Codeberg IPs to an allow-list on their side would be enough).

Censor, a new document redaction tool, is there!

It allows to draw black rectangles on PDF documents and to permanently remove the text and images below. Find it on @Codeberg: codeberg.org/censor/Censor, get it from @flathub: flathub.org/apps/page.codeberg, or translate it on Codeberg Translate: translate.codeberg.org/engage/!

It is a free and open-source graphical user interface (GUI) for and the desktop, and uses the library with its bindings from the module.

The projects weren't getting much (if any) traction, but it's still nice to have them stored in a nice place. All the code is lot of old junk but it's special to me.
