I find black on white ("light mode") more readable, especially in bright environments (e.g., with the sun shining on the screen), while the "dark mode" is easier on my eyes.
Hence, I use both, depending on the time of day / environment.

@me @eniko This is me, too. I deliberately got an apartment with a beautiful, panoramic view. I didn't consider at the time that that means it's often quite sunny in there.

My laptop screen isn't that bright. If I used dark mode in the daytime, all I'd see would be my own reflection in the screen!

OTOH, when the sun goes down, light mode is too bright.

I'm increasingly 😒 with web sites and apps that don't automatically switch mode along with my OS. (Reddit, WTF?)
